Conversation with Bristol Reggae Orchestra founder, Stella Quinlivan
Bristol Reggae Orchestra is one of the UK’s most unique, inspiring and uplifting community projects. Set up in early 2010, its debut sold out St George’s in Bristol, a renowned classical music venue, and turned it into a seething dance hall. Since then, performances at local festivals, in the St Paul’s community and around the southwest have confirmed the Reggae Orchestra as one to watch.
Wrong dates on the notice, can the landlord take me to Jamaica Court for eviction
I did not pay my landlord rent on the first of the month when the rent is due. I paid him late. Last month on the 20th of April, a man came and gave me a notice. He put April 19 to May 19 for the period to move out, and signed that he gave me on April 19th. Can the landlord give me a notice dated in the middle of the month and be allowed to evict me just like that?

Her first publication was with American Peggy Quattro Reggae Report magazine. She’s written for The Source, Vibe, The Village Voice, Skywriting, Jam-Rock and Billboard magazines. Penn Relays a Brand Jamaica Success at Work
The Penn Relays at Franklin field at the University of Pennsylvania, one can call the equivalent of Reggae Sunsplash, or Usain Bolt and Jamaicans at the Olympics, or the bi annual World Athletic Championships, truth be told it feels more like Jamaica’s annual ISSA Boys and Girls Champs Kingston, Jamaica which, by the way was inaugurated in 1910. The Penn Relays festival has become, "the world's largest relay carnival" according to the UPEN organizers, America’s largest amateur track meet. But was this venerable Franklin Field event always this way? No, it wasn’t.
Pantomime: What Is For You - Part 15 by Aisha Scales The next week with my parents absolutely flew by. The three of us were constantly on the go, going from one end of Kingston to the other. We went to Lime Cay for a day and to Gloria’s in Port Royal for dinner, went up to campus to look at my parents’ old stomping grounds and my current ones, and visited what seemed like an endless number of family and friends. Mummy and I also found time to go shopping for my New Year’s Eve dress. The one we found was absolutely gorgeous and I couldn’t wait to wear it. I tried not to wonder what Kevin would think of it, and tried to ignore my mother’s incessant chatter in my ear after we'd bought it, telling me that he would surely leave his girlfriend to be with me once he saw me in it.

Selling Dreams & Unrealistic Hope – Jamaicans being pitched to be an Entrepreneur
I'm getting really tired of seeing in Jamaica this endless push for it to be up to the people to create the opportunities. Everyone being pitched "BE AN ENTREPRENEUR". Statistically even in the best economic climates its FACT that most entrepreneurs FAIL. Even with the tools, business degrees etc. How about coupling that with the fact that Jamaica is not set up to support small business.
