Whagwaan peeps
My name is Classy (birth name Janisha) and I’m a moderator for the Style/Fashion and Music forums here on Jamaicans.com. I was born in California and have moved around frequently through the “Golden State”. I am working and attending college with hopes of studying abroad one day soon.
Growing up listening to Steel Pulse, Culture, Third World and Bob Marley – it was only natural that I journey to Jamaica. I have taken four trips in 13 months and with July less than three months away, I will soon be returning for Sumfest and Bashment.
Being a member of this board has definitely taught me a lot and I feel honored to be entrusted with the responsibilities that I have. I’m hoping that one day we contributors will be paid for our efforts (I love cash but a plane ticket will suffice *lol* – just kidding).
A little more about me:
Music: I love dancehall and reggae. If you are coming with me to a dance, be prepared by wearing comfortable shoes and drinking Red Bull to stay awake because I will stay until the very end. I think I spend more money on music and dvds every month than I do on anything else. Anita Baker and Sade are who I listen to when I am winding down from a long day at work.
Food: I love to eat and cannot even begin to tell you what my favorite dish is – I love all Jamaican dishes, especially callaloo. The way to my heart is definitely through my appetite. Running in close second is soul food – greens, macaroni and cheese, fry fish, cornbread…yum. I am definitely a country girl and love my country food.
Beverage: Ting (with and without the vodka), blended juice, and Arizona Lemon and Raspberry Iced Tea.
Travel: If it’s not Jamaica then I’m not going. However I do have hopes of attending Carnival in Trinidad and doing some shopping in London.
Other Interests: Reading, cooking, health and fitness, fashion, dancing, photography and modeling.
Ambition: To finish all of the things on my “to do” list, find a career that I am interested in and to have my own home in Jamaica.
Anything else you want to know, just link me on the board. Thanks for taking the time to read this and God bless!
