Percy Ricketts was born in Clarendon, Jamaica and is a licensed Psychotherapist in Pembroke Pines, Florida. Prior to entering the Mental Health field, he worked in Public Health/Animal Health and International Marketing for many years and has traveled extensively throughout the world. He was educated at Virginia Tech and at Nova Southeastern University, where he received his Master of Science Degree in Mental Health Counseling. He is currently pursuing studies towards his Doctorate Degree in Counseling Psychology. Mr. Ricketts completed his internship and licensure preparation work at Henderson Mental Health Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He has worked in a variety of Community Mental Health and private settings, including Youth Crisis Emergency Services. In his current capacity, Mr. Ricketts works with Severely Emotionally Disturbed (SED) children, in the Broward County School system and operates a private practice in Pembroke Pines.
Mr. Ricketts has a vested interest in working with children and families. His main areas of interest include working with parents, youths without stable male role models in their lives, and with those who may be at serious risk for delinquent and mal-adaptive behaviors. He feels very strongly about helping others, especially those who struggle with major life challenges, which they are desirous of overcoming. He speaks Spanish fluently and enjoys working with multi-cultural clients. Professionally, Mr. Ricketts maintains active memberships with The American Psychotherapy Association, American Counseling Association, American Mental Health Counselors Association and The Mental Health Association of Broward County, Florida.
