Dawn at Lover’s Leap is regarded as the sequel to Horane Smith’s earlier novel, Lover’s Leap. The book is sub-titled, The Jamaican Legend Continues, and it picks up where the earlier novel ends with the two slave lovers leaping to their death from the Lover’s Leap cliffs.
