Review: First Annual Kingston City Run, March 10, 2013 Jamaica, known as home of the world’s fastest man and the birthplace of many world class sprinters. With media focus primarily on our sprinters, I am sure many people around the world erroneously wonder if anyone in Jamaica runs further than 800 meters. Of course we do have middle and long distance runners, we also have marathon runners. There has been an annual marathon in Negril for over ten years now, and in 2013 our capital city Kingston hosted its first half-marathon.

Farewell to February, Welcome to March I woke up this morning in a state of disbelief. I mean, I know that February is the shortest month in the year but how is it possible that a whole two months out of 2013 are pretty much gone already? I have not even come up for air from my month off in January to regroup with my thoughts and do my Vision Board. Is it just me or can YOU believe that March is literally here already? Where DID February go?

Maybe you were a week before your period (ladies), and the bloating just got on your last nerves.

Book Review: Core Values The home my family occupied after we moved to Kingston was situated along the route taken by dignitaries on their way to Jamaica House, the Prime Minister’s official residence. As a result of this fortuitous bit of luck, we never had to join the throng at the airport eagerly awaiting Queen Elizabeth, Emperor Haile Selassie or other important visitors to our island; we merely had to wait by our gate for the motorcade and wave furiously as they drove by, escorted by the police and a line of other official cars.
Jamaican Flag Burning TV commercial should be the least of our concen I heard with dismay that the whole 'Saturn coffee shop/Jamaican flag' thing is hot in Jamaica and even on the news repeatedly. I can't believe that Jamaicans have nothing else to do. Its like every little thing distracts us. You'd think that a TV ad was our most pressing concern. But worse still, its much ado over a total misrepresentation.

Among many other inventions, pre-enslaved Africans, developed agricultural tools, building materials, medicinal herbs, cloth and weapons.
