This trip was primarily for a week of rest and relaxation after two hectic weeks in Zambia. From what I can recall, after all the stuff we did there we were gratified, but tired, and looking forward to the downtime before the long flight back to Toronto through London. Our departure from Lusaka was staggered; one team member was going back to Toronto and I was the first one to Cape Town where I would wait for the arrival of the others. The plan was to spend a night in Jo'burg and fly out the next day to Cape Town where we would spend three days before coming back for two days in Jo'burg.
Day-cation: Ft. Lauderdale Part 2 - The Strip For over twenty years it has been my favorite place to seek a reprieve from the harsh New Jersey winters or just the occasional unwelcome bout of ennui. Like so many of its legions of visitors, I have been a fevered moth flocking to the flames of excitement that is Fort Lauderdale to leave bone chilling temperatures and my cares behind.
Day-cation: Ft. Lauderdale For many, the Fourth of July serves as the official commencement of the summer season. Though with the recession, unemployment and gas prices at a record highs, consumers are feeling more than just a pinch to their pockets and instead sharing their experience of a few Lennox Lewis punches and Bruce Lee kicks to their finances. This only leaves families who still want to take some time off to the enjoy the glory days of summer gravitating towards pocket saving alternatives like "Stay- or Day-cations".
On the Go - The Other Side of Florida: Exploring Tampa with Teenagers A trip to Tampa is like no other place in the world, primarily because it is one of the southern cities that provides down home charm with the sophistication of city living. A family day spent in Tampa is nothing less than spectacular. There is so much to see and do, it is a city that caters to families and children of all ages.
Welcome to Isla as the locals call it Isla is 20 min ferry ride off of Cancun. We went down for 12 days
last year for Joe's daughters wedding. She got married south of Cancun and we had always wanted to come here longer than a day trip. Its nothing like Cancun a true hidden gem, a Mexican gem.

We didn't have any of this cold weather last year, or even the year before. I can honestly say I missed the photo taking opportunities, as one of my favorite times to go take pictures is when it's at least -20 Farenheight. It's a fact that we haven't had an early February as cold as this since 1996, and that was the cold winter that sent me running to live in Wisconsin, on the south shore, after starting my van on fire trying to gt it started on a day when the HIGH was -53F below with a wind chill in the -80's below.

Jamaicans Love to Travel - 6 European Countries in 10 days: Part 8 Berlin, Germany Today we were up early as we were leaving Rome (Italy) for Berlin (German). We packed and ate breakfast. We went to the front desk to verify the connecting train we would take to the airport and approximately how long it would take. We were greeted by Paola who told us that the buses and trains were on strike. The only way to get around the city would be by cab. She called a cab for us. We waited for almost 1.5 hours before it arrived. The traffic was a nightmare. We reached the airport 10 minutes before check-in closed.
Jamaicans Love to Travel - UK, Zambia, & South Africa Saturday October 16th, I missed my flight out of Toronto. No kidding. But it wasn't my fault as there was an accident on the highway and number of people on the same flight had the same problem. The day had started off rather challenging so this was just par for the course; I was determined not to let it get to me. When we got to the airport and tried to check in, we were told the gate was "closed" even though one gentleman flying first class was allowed to go through. Donkey did say the world wasn't level, right?
Jamaicans Love to Travel - 6 European Countries in 10 days: Part 7 Rome, Italy We slept in a little later than normal. I also needed it as my cell phone rang about 3:00 am and woke me up. It was the day that back in the USA Lebron James would decide on the team he would play for. I am a very avid basketball fan. I knew if my phone rang we (the Miami Heat) got him. I got out of bed and logged on my computer to see what the “decision” was. I was happy Lebron was coming to Miami and did not go back to sleep till an hour later.
