1. "Pieces of Jamaica" art exhibition at the African American Research Library in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Artists Davis I. Muir, Michael Curtis and Louis Davis capture and showcase the vibrant intricate beauty that comprises the people and landscape of Jamaica through the magic of photography. The exhibition opened to rave reviews on August 17, 2011 and is scheduled to reen through in September.

2. All African, Carribean, and Pacific roads lead to Montego Bay's Rose Hall this August 31, 2011 through September 3, 2011 as once again Jamaica plays host to the 'Stir It Up Film Festival. This years production has been billed as an expostion with live performances, screenings, conferences, workshops and chat sessions with musicians and film makers on topics related to Carribean music and culture.
3. Considered the literal and physical location where Reggae music began, the legendary Studio One released a feature length documentary DVD prefacing a new Studio One album and book. Described as the "definitive guide to Studio One and its role in the launch of artists such as The Skatalites, Bob Marley and the Wailers, Sugar Minott and Burning Spear among many others. Produced by Soul Jazz records the film which took over eighteen months in the making is noted to have footage of iconic founder and noted recluse Clement "Sir Coxone" Dodd.

4. Honolulu Hawaii is experiencing a heat wave of a different sort as the Jawaiian Irie Jerk Restaraunt opened its doors to a crowd anxious to sample the fusion of such Jamaican favorites as Jerk Chicken and Pork, Escovitch Fish and Ital Stew with local delights by Chef Cassie. The enterprising entreprenuer saw an oppurtunity to tantilize tastebuds already accustomed to the flavors of paradise and heighten them to new levels. 5. And finally, we were fascinated by the Jamaican designer Duvaugn Robinson's recent assention as the blogospheres virtual design darling with the summer release of his sci-fi horror inspired sunglasses.
