Interview With Dr. Stephen Stuempfle, Chief Curator For The Port Royal Exhibit in Miami
This February 16 through June 3, 2007 residents in South Florida will have an opportunity to view a large collection of rare artifacts from the famous Jamaican city of Port Royal, much of which sank under the sea in a devastating earthquake in 1692. Once known as the “wickedest city on earth,” Port Royal has a past far richer than pirates’ treasures. We interview Dr. Stephen Stuempfle, chief curator for the Historical Museum of Southern Florida.
