My oldest daughter comes home today and tells me that a student at her school taped all the skits the teachers did at homecoming. They were not suppose to take it but someone used their camera phone. Out of curiosity I went to youtube and typed in my high school from Jamaica. What a shock. I also typed in a few other Jamaican schools and was surprised at some of the videos I found. Looking on the brighter side there is now a way to find out what your child and their teachers are doing at school.
Talk about integrated. Here is a workstation for those who can’t live with out their computer but need to exercise. I am not sure how many of these will sell at $6,500, a unit.
I loved the “Date Doctor” movie with Will Smith. If you are not familiar with the movie it is about a guy who clients pay to “lyrixs” a woman to date him. Now I had heard there are people like this but did not think it was real. Well there seems to be a real date doctor. I read the story in the Miami Herald. Now this type of service is not cheap. You have to pay a total of $100,000 to the this “Date Doctor”. I guess money can buy you someone to find you love.
I was unable to catch the Oprah show on Wednesday but I heard Jamaica has finally made it on the show. Before we “push up our chest”. Let me tell you what the story was about. It was about being gay around the world. The piece on Jamaica was titled “Far from Paradise”. You can read a version of the story on Oprah’s website.
I don’t think Caribbean organizations and promoters are learning how to “care and feed” the media. We do not want your nice glossy poster of your Event announcement. Yes we know it is content however we like “text”. Send the image but sent text. It is easy to copy and paste into anything we are doing. So when your event is not posted on Jamaicans.com it is not that we have something against you. It is just that we can’t translate your poster/image to text.
Last week the Jamaica news media reported there is a high number of men wearing “jackets” in Jamaica. If you are not familiar with the term it basically means a woman “tagging” you as the father of their child when she may know you are not.
