Coco Tea Now has a video to his Barack Obama song…
The video looks a little rushed but it is a video. Waiting on the Jamaicans for McCain.

The recent “uptick” in violence in Jamaica seems to put a cloud over Jamaicans on the island. At least the people I have been talking to. It is during a time like this we need something to lift the nation up. I am optimistic that this week Jamaica’s Sade Dunbar who will participate in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington can provide a “likkle” lift up. Continue to keep Jamaica in Prayer for a bigger “lift up”…
Many of my friends who are passion at about the Democratic side political race do not like it when I tell them that their chances of winning are very slim. This is regardless of the gender and race which may also make it a little more difficult. Many of you have heard about the Red and Blue states. This is what determines the election. This is where the real strategies come in. Yes, ignore the national polling. The election is one by these states. The Republicans will always have most of these states once the presidential election season starts. Since Nixon (almost 40 years ago) there have been only 2 Democratic presidents. Both who are from the South which are Red states. Any Democrat who hopes to win the president has to win a few red states. I don’t want to sound like someone who is about “doom and gloom” but it is a very difficult task. It is a mixture of race, religion, population density, lower voter turnout etc. Here is an interesting link on the topic. They have been pretty accurate on the state by state races. As you you will see both Democrats are projected to lose against McCain in the general election.
Not sure how many of you caught Bruce Golding interview on the BBC. He was quite frank with his responses especially on the homosexual issue. It has been an issue that seems to “dog” Jamaica in the eyes of the international community. I Bruce handled the questions well but I am waiting to see the response from the “activist” organization. They have called for a boycott of Jamaica, Jamaican reggae artist and even the travel ban of some Jamaican entertainers. Lets see what happens next.
I am hoping people are paying attention to the Democratic primary’s exit polls. In many of the southern states white Democrats are saying race played a role in how they voted. Does it mean all of these white folks are racist probably not. However some of them probably are. This brings me to the point. Why is it that black people are suprised when you tell them that their are Democrats that may be racist? I think the Election Primary is showing that the Democratic party (like the Republicans) have a long way to go when it comes to race. Hillary Clinton will not blatantly say it but she clearly believes that Barack cannot win because he is black. She tried to convey her true feelings when she said she can “win” the blue collar white voters. The bottom line is no party is prejudiced free. Black voters give approximately 90% of their vote to the Democrats assuming that it is a “prejudice free” party.
Late last night while watching the NBA game (Lakers and Utah) I did some channel surfing (Yes men love to do this between commercials). I came up on the Keith Olbermann show, Countdown, on MSNBC. He was giving his closing commentary for the day. I was shocked. Watch for yourself in the clips above. I am not used to a reporter on TV talking about a sitting president the way he did. I was expecting them to cut him and go to a commercial.
Politics and Sports go hand in hand…right. Well I guess it depends…lol. My cousin was chatting with me online about the dual citizen issue in Jamaica. She was talking about the hypocrisy of foreign born player who represent us for football because they are the best at what they do. There was alot of politically maneuvering to get these player on the team (politics and sports mix in Jamaica…sometimes). Her questions is why can’t we have dual-citizen politicians if they are the best at what they do.
