My name is Vjange (pronounced like Angie with
a V) Hazle. I was born in Hanover, Jamaica in the 1900's but grew
up in Montego Bay. I attended Montego Bay High School and then
Mico Teachers' College. I taught at Ardenne High, St. Catherine
High and Montego Bay High before migrating to the United States.
I also worked as a Telephone Operator for a while. My stories
and poems have been published in The Gleaner, Focus, The Caribbean
Writer 1990 and New Writing from the Caribbean. My article Chit-Chat
appears in The West Indian Newspaper in Hartford, Connecticut.
Currently, I live in Connecticut with my ten year old son Stuart
and I work for an airline.
FAVORITE FOOD: Brown Stew Chicken
and Fried Dumplings.
FAVORITE BEVERAGE(S): Milo
wid nuff condense milk, carrot juice wid nutmeg, vanilla and nuff,
nuff condense milk.
FAVORITE THINGS TO DO: Writing,
dancing, reading, making people laugh an whole heap more but dem
too much fi list.
FAVORITE QUOTE: There cannot
be too many glorious women. (Me nuh memba a who say so but me
believe it.)
