Halloween is upon us an with the economy the way it is most people are just keeping a low profile.
Most people are just trying to put their best forward to keep the shame out of their eyes.
As a Jamaican living in the United States I am going back to my Jamaican values. As the SS America is sinking because of a declining economy most Americans are developing their creative talents. Therefore I have decided to give my Halloweeners grater cake and cut cake this holloween season. This is the most cost effective way.
As you may know, all you need is a few coconuts, some banana leaf , a couple bags of brown sugar, wax paper and foil paper. My Halloweeners will be getting a taste of the Caribbean this year. When I ask my neighbors what they are doing for Halloween, they say that, their mood is too somber to think of festivities. The houses that used to be decorated and adorned with all sorts of Halloween paraphenalia will be quiet this year, because most Americans just aren't in the mood to fake a good time.
Ms. Dulcie as dem say inna Jamaica, "Haaard times a bust we shut inna Merka." Most people back home think that the streets are lined with gold and money trees, but I can tell you Ms. Dulcie the dollars are rare to come by. Everyone is panicking silently.
