Well, I was so shame, mi kinly put on mi dawrk glasses an run crass de street like sey me no knoe ar. Can yu himagine my dilemma? Well, praise Jesus mi was hable to save me good name. She mussey did wake hup pon de wrang side a de bed dat de mawning?
All de same, dat's life and dat's people far yu!
Dis letta me select fi read to ono deal with sum hof de strangeness me experience wid dis ya oman de odder day. It is good to know dat dere are people in dis world who notice weirdness!!! It's from wan student inna foreign. Listen good.
Dear Ms. Dulcie:
I am a Sociology student living in Canada. I recently came across one of your articles, and I have to let you know how impressed I am by your intuitive responses to peoples' dilemmas. During my studies in Sociology and observing people keenly, I have often pondered two questions. The first being, Why do other human beings want what another human beings have? I guess you could call it covetousness. My second question is, Why do immigrants from the same country often repel each other?
After doing some extensive traveling, I have often noticed that sometimes people from the islands are never happy for each others' successes. Why is that? One would think that they would find comaraderie in their origin?
Well, Ms. Dulcie these are my two wonders of the world, hopefully you can lead me to a sociological breakthrough.
Peace from - The Ponderer
Dear Mista Ponderer,
Noboda ponda pon people too much, dem will halways mek yu come hout looking like a clown who fargot we de pahty is. Sum human beins jus suffa from wan complex. Wedder self-inflicted or gained by life experiance, dem jus weird!!
As far people wanting wat odders have, in Jamaica we have a nyam fi it, we call it "red eye" not like the plane you ketch. We cyall it dat because when sumeone is incapable of bein dem hown persan. Dem is a fallow fashin monkey, and fallow fashin monkeys nevva drink good soup yet. Yu knoe what dat means? If yu no accustum to strive fi excellence, yu will tink hany destination is good, heven if yu haffi bore yu way tru. Or like I like to sey, yu primps up yuself till yu get wan bly.
Tank you far bringin hup a good point habout people fram de same Country not halways glad far heach odders' successes. I have hexperienced it mi self. Sumetimes yu hown Countryman his de firs wan fi cyall down fia an brimstone pon yu. De honly ting I cyan tink hof is ole fashion jealousy. Dem wan to be de Special Chief Hen inn de pen. Honly dem wan must preen an shine. De way de worl is nowadays, it's not jussa country ting. It's a human bein ting. We no glad far heach odder accomplishments at hall. Mos people will tell yu, "Is not yu henemy dat do yu in, sumetime is yu very hown or yu bes frien."
So hall anybady cyan do is pray to God far perseverance, and don't mine we de odder people tryin fi do to yu. Jus press on, and halways be yourself!
Peple are halways unreasonable, but trus God! Stay smart, till nex time.
Ms. Dulcimer Robothom
