Remember the days of school?

When everyone did their best to be cool,

Aspiring to achieve the highest grade,

So you wouldn't have to wear the hat , that looked like a lamp shade,

The one that screamed, "Dunce!"

To wear this chapeau was no honor,

You were labeled at once....

A Dunce!

You would try to hide so no one could see,

There it was on the blackboard in white chalk letters,

"The Dunce"

It was an incentive to be better than great,

My goal was never to get that rate,

1st, 2nd, or 3rd earned me a gold plate,
