The Jamerican Life

By

Living in the wintery snow, with daydreams of a Jamaican sunset,

Flashbacks of hot taystee patties,

While running to the grocery store to buy frozen ones for guests,

Reminiscing on hot Jamaican days on the beach in our swimsuits,

Now we just run to the tanning salon for the bright lights to maintain our copper roots,

Eating ackee, saltfish and jack fruit from a can,

I remember when we used to climb the tree and pick our fruit and fry it up in a pan,

Man, Oh Man! how times have changed,

A Jamaican living in America during the Super Age.

God Bless America and Jamaica!
