Poem: "Obama's Cross"

Published Apr 8, 2012

Obama's Cross

Obama came into the Presidency,
with clever ideas and a sense
of urgency,
Many laughed and smiled,
but they were just waiting
for a while to block him
every which way with
rhetoric and hypocrisy,
Dirty politics is making
a grandstand, using
whatever leverage
it can,
Politicians slinging
mud at one another,
using a President's family,
for carefree fodder,
Private lives will get
displayed like pieces of
mahogany furniture,
rendering a life of Public
Service ordinary and common.
