The news blares doom and gloom,
While companies are functioning as if
everything’s okay,
Having fun and frolic,
Like Romper Room,
A sham,
When they haven’t got a wing and a prayer,
“Out of Business Sale!” screams silently,
Through the excitement and melee’,
All that is left is a façade of what used to be,
Trudging along in hypocrisy,
No one knows what the future holds,
If companies will attain their goals,
Only the faith of employees keep persevering,
By showing up each day and working.
