Poem: Dem Have!

Published Apr 8, 2012

 Dem Have!

The foreigners who come from the Middle East,

Dressed in fine silks and jewelry from head to toe,

Suddenly, everyone wants to know where they go,

thrust into the spotlight in the name of terrorism plights,

Dem Have!

So everyone a bruck out fight,

All in the name of piece of the action,

The gourmet foods, beautiful people,

Dem Have!

But how come dem no have no church wid steeple?

So mek we get all hup inna dem consitution,

Some tink, "We can't trust exotic people!"

Wealth and affluence are under attack,

How can foreigners be comfortable in a country where there

is lack?

No one bothers to think of all the years they toiled in their

homelands,

In a new country they are vagabonds, suspect to peddling

terror and contraband.
