Our next stop was the Yankee clubhouse....no pictures allowed ...I did manage to get this one, tho...at the end of the tunnel from the clubhouse to the dugout hangs this sign...the Yankee players touch it for good luck on their way to the field before games....

we also got to see Thurman Munson's locker, which has remained unoccupied since his untimely death in 1979

    You look so somber Dave.

It's sad to see such a landmark going. It was pretty sad when they tore down "The Gahd'n" in Boston. They replaced it with The Fleet Center and then name keeps changing, depending on who's footin the bills. So commercial. At this point it's called: T.D.Banknorth Graden.
Hope your Yank's don't resort to selling the naming rights.

I have one question... when you were in the dugout, didja spit??

Re: The House That Ruth Built

not only did I spit, I also scratched myself in a way that only a ballplayer can!

ya know, as exciting a day as it was, I went in the door knowing it would be the last time I'd ever set foot in the place there's so much history in the place ("Mystique and Aura appearing nightly" ) and I've had so many amazing experiences there that my feelings were somewhat mixed that day.....

the new building will still be called Yankee Stadium, tho...no corporate sponsors were involved in naming the place....here's a view of the new park going up across the street with just "Yankee Stadium" above the front gate (Turner and HOK are building the Stadium; those banners will be gone soon enough)

    Wow Dave

Wonderful pictures! I am amazed it looks so empty, where there not a lot of people there?

I have to forward this link to my best friend, she will much appreciate it!
