    6 European Countries in 10 days...Part 2 - London

We were up early on day 2 as we had a long day ahead of us. Another Aunt and some other cousins came by. My motherís side of the family lived in London/Brixton. My fatherís side of the family lived in Luton and the surrounding area.

We walked through Brixton Market to the train station. We were going to take a bus tour of London so the children could see the sites. My last daughter had never been to London before and the first 2 barely remember our first visit. We took the train to Piccadilly Park where the Tour bus stop was. The Bus Tour would follow a slightly different route for that day as there was a Gay Parade in the city. It was a nice cool day and the sun was out. It was a double decker bus with an open roof.

After the tour it was back to Brixton. One of my cousinsí bought fish and chips while we were out. My children insisted they had to have fish and chips before leaving London.

Next it was off to Luton where my grandmother lived (fatherís mother). There was some traffic getting there so we arrived later than expected. This was my third time visited Luton and I realized that I never walked around the city. We dropped off our bags in my grandmotherís apartment and went for a walk. She was our tour guide. My grandmother introduced me to a few of her Jamaican friends we saw at the Luton Mall.

When we got back to the house my grandmother warmed up the food she had waiting for us. It was Fricassee chicken, one of my favorite dishes (she knows I love it.). She also made some ďBlue DrawsĒ for us to snack on after dinner (another one of my favorites). We spent most of the evening catching up. I had seen her mother (my great-grandmother who is 106) a month back (in Jamaica) so she wanted to know how she was doing. We tried to go to bed early as we would flight out early that morning but there was so much to catch up on.

@ JamBrit, I did not have much time there to try alot of food. My Aunt and grandmother did Jamaican food. The fish and chips were good. I visited London 2 times before this visit but apart from fish and chips I don't remember trying anything else.

Oh ok....next time you visit, you need to try other cuisines. IMO, the Chinese and Indian food in the UK (if you like that sort of food) is much tastier than those here in the U.S....even the fast food places like McD's, Kentucky tastes better.
