Hon. Evans and the West Philadelphia Seventh-Day Adventist Church were recognized by Team Jamaica Bickle (TJB) – Philadelphia and the East Chapter of the Exelon African American Members Association for their vibrant leadership and commitment to community-related endeavors in support of Jamaica’s participation at the Penn Relays over the years.

The event which was attended by a cross-section of the Philadelphia Caribbean community, including Brian Head (Director of Marketing, UPenn), raised funds to help the more than 300 sporting ambassadors expected to attend this year’s 113th staging of the Penn Relays from April 26-28, 2007.
At right is Barbara Wilson, the new co-chair of TJB-Philadelphia. The Consul General served as patron of the proceedings.

Jamaica’s quarter of (l-r); Rosemarie Whyte (200 m); Moya Thompson (400 m); SheriAnn Brooks (200 m) and Kenia Sinclair (800 m); combined for the only win by the national senior team at last weekend’s Penn Relays Carnival in Track & Field Athletics in Philadelphia.
