JAMAICA EXPLORES CARIBBEAN JEWISH HISTORY– David L. Gerber, Professor of Jewish History at The Graduate Center, CUNY and author of “The Jews of Spain” (second from right) and Miriam Bodian, Professor at the University of Texas and author of “Hebrews of the Portuguese Nation.” The group gathered at the opening of the inaugural Jewish Diaspora of the Caribbean Conference where Gerber collaborated with Henriques to co-chair the conference. Bodian served as a member of the panel discussing “The Formation of the Spanish and Portuguese Jewish Diaspora.” The Jewish Diaspora of the Caribbean Conference is being hosted at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in Kingston from January 12-14, 2010. January 13, 2010 - JAMAICA TEAMS UP WITH NATIONAL AIRLINE DURING CARIBBEAN MARKETPLACE - Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism Edmund Bartlett (center) and Director of Tourism John Lynch (right) caught up with members of the Air Jamaica delegation during the just concluded Caribbean Marketplace, in San Juan, Puerto Rico.   Members of the Air Jamaica team included from left to right: Campbell Rudder, Regional Sales Manager, Northeast USA; Joan Boxer, Regional Sales Manager, Florida and Southeast USA and Air Jamaica’s Senior Director of Global Sales, George W. deMercado.  The trade show, organized by the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association saw some 335 supplier companies and 124 buyer companies participating with 922 supplier delegates and 315 buyer delegates registered.  - Photo by Jamaica Tourism Board
