READY! SET! GO! IT’S TIME FOR A WINTER RESCUE TO JAMAICA – The Jamaica Tourist Board kicked off its Winter Rescue campaign this morning with the first of three weekly events at New York City’s Port Authority Bus Terminal. Joining in the celebrations were Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism Edmund Bartlett (second from left), Jamaica’s Director of Tourism John Lynch (right), Air Jamaica’s Regional Sales Manager, Northern USA Campbell Rudder (left), Miss Jamaica USA Diane Johnson (center), and a member of the original Jamaican Bobsleigh Team Devon Harris (second from right). The island’s national carrier, Air Jamaica, is Jamaica’s official airline partner for the weekly events at Port Authority’s Bus Terminal. The Bus Terminal is decorated with enticing ads depicting the most beautiful spots in Jamaica, aimed to inspire New Yorkers to escape the chilly winter weather. Additionally, taxicabs throughout New York City are sporting special Jamaican tops. New Yorkers who spot a Jamaican cab can visit WWPR-FM’s website to provide details about the time and location the cab was spotted and enter to win a trip to Jamaica, courtesy of Air Jamaica and Riu Hotels & Resorts. Morning commuters learned about special Winter Rescue packages from Travelocity and New Year sale fares from Air Jamaica, picked up some Jamaican goodies, posed for photos with Miss Jamaica USA and member of the original Jamaican Bobsleigh Team Devon Harris, and had a chance to enter to win a trip to Jamaica courtesy of Air Jamaica and Riu Hotels & Resorts. JAMAICA TOURIST BOARD KICKS OFF ITS WINTER RESCUE SALES BLITZ IN NEW YORK CITY – Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism Edmund Bartlett, Jamaica’s Director of Tourism John Lynch, Miss Jamaica USA Diane Johnson and a member of Jamaica’s original Bobsleigh Team Devon Harris joined the Jamaica Tourist Board’s U.S. sales team and Air Jamaica to celebrate the official kickoff of the Jamaica Winter Rescue campaign at New York City’s Port Authority Bus Terminal this morning. The Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) brought in representatives from across the U.S. to participate in its Winter Rescue sales blitz, meeting with travel agents throughout the U.S. to provide destination updates and encourage agents to recommend Jamaica as the warm weather winter destination.
