Under the banner “The future is bright, when you can read and write!” The Palmyra Foundation’s primary purpose is to provide school books and educational materials to 4 and 5 year old Kindergarten children in pre-schools across Jamaica. The Palmyra Foundation’s aim is to help eradicate illiteracy and promote a positive outlook of prosperity for the children.

The list will be available online until August 21st, 2011 so as to ensure they get to Jamaica before the new school year. The school supplies will be distributed in Jamaica later in the year. Jamaicans.com 2011 Heart Foundation Drive in Memory of Marcia “Ackeegirl” Davidson This year marks 8 years (7/13/03) since Marcia “Ackeegirl” Davidson passed away after a long battle with heart disease. She was instrumental to the Jamaicans.com website and served as the first moderator, first administrator, and in many other areas. She had the heart of an angel. This month, to honor the memory of Marcia “Ackeegirl” Davidson, we are raising $300 to donate to the Jamaica Heart Foundation. Please help us today.
