Peter Tosh - 1 Minute Jamaican Music Biography
Published Jun 23, 2004
Peter [McIn] Tosh began releasing solo records well before he
and Bunny Wailer decided to split from Bob Marley and the Wailers.
The eldest of the original vocal trio, Peter was regarded by
many as an angry rebel and his ongoing examination of his Black
roots was an inspiration to a whole heap of people. His ongoing
'run-ins' with the authorities were legendary. His never ceasing
proclamation of HERB as a necessary ingredient for a better life
and state of mind is well documented. Sept. 11, 1987 Peter was
murdered at his home in St. Andrew, Jamaica. The quality of his
righteous and often angry works has seldom been equalled.
