British Museum Invites Firefly Films To Form Panel

Firefly Films has been invited to sit on a panel of Caribbean filmmakers to discuss the emerging Caribbean film scene during the Caribe Cinema season at the British Museum in London. Caribe Cinema's mission is to give Londoners a view through the lens of filmmakers from the region showing life that is a stark contrast to sun, sea and sand. Diverseworld in collaboration with the British Museum and Curzon Cinemas hosts Caribe Cinema at the British Museum and at Curzon in Soho set for July 13th, 20th & 27th , 2007.

On Friday July 20th, Jamaica's Paul Bucknor, Storm Saulter, Nile Saulter and Joel Burke will discuss the work of Firefly Films and its endeavour to develop and encourage Jamaica's film industry. The discussion will be chaired by Klive Walker, essayist and author, who has several published articles on Caribbean cinema, including, Perry Henzell's obituary. The night will also showcase short films from Cuba, Trinidad and Barbados.

"It is an honour to be invited to speak at the British Museum and we are excited to open dialogue about our growing film industry." Stated maverick director and producer, Paul Bucknor.

Caribe Cinema will also exhibit the UK premieres of Jamaican filmmaker Perry Henzell's " No Place Like Home" on Friday July 13th and Trinidadian filmmaker, Yao Ramesar's "Sistagod" on Friday July 27th.

Firefly Films, along with fellow Caribbean producers / directors, will open up discussions on the emerging Caribbean Film Industry at the British Museum on Great Russell Street in London on Friday July 20 th, 2007.
