Cherine "Hits" The Streets

Published Apr 4, 2008

New York, April 3, 2008 - Cherine Anderson's 'Dancehall Soul' sound has made an impact and helped to create a new standard for up and coming Jamaican female vocalists. In only two years she ignited our flames with "Good Love" , turned up the heat with "Coming Over Tonight", and set ablaze speaker boxes with the lyrically potent and heartfelt "Kingston State of Mind". Cherine has written and collaborated with some of the best in the business and performed on world renowned stages. For those eager for more of Cherine Anderson, she's got something for you - a FREE mixtape entitled Street Anthems - made especially for her fans.

The mix (a FREE download through www.cherineanderson.com), is a 36 minute musical journey and offers new recordings of previously released hits as well as several unreleased songs. Hosted brilliantly by Rory of Stone Love, Street Anthems also features appearances by other artists including: Wyclef Jean, David Rodigan, Britney Spears, Sly & Robbie, Peter Gayle, Chuck Fender, Desdamona and Carnage.

Street Anthems is the first of its kind by a Jamaican vocalist. When asked about the inspiration behind Street Anthems, Cherine responded, "Street Anthems is really my gift to the streets; the ghetto, the people who really can't afford to purchase cds. I make my music for all people and I want them all to share in the experience."

The Street Anthems mixtape also serves as an introduction to the Summer 2008 release of Cherine's highly anticipated debut album.
