Jamaican Born Delroy Souden Makes His Mark On The US Gospel Scene

Published Feb 28, 2007

Everyone knows the saying, "When life throws you lemons...make lemonade." Delroy has had many negative situations thrown at him and none of them was a lemon but there have been many hurts, heartaches, disappointments, homelessness and worst. His will and determination to press forward is matched only by his love for God and his passion for music.

In 2001, he released his first maxi-single, 'Holy Fire" that was embraced by a few stations across the country and overseas. He's shared stages with some of gospel music's stellar artists and In July of 2002 Delroy released "No Doubt", his debut full-length project, and also performed at the International Urban Music Conference (I.U.M.C.) in Chicago, Illinois to great response and a packed house. Delroy has ministered to audiences all across the United States and Canada.

He has worked very hard to carve out a niche for himself, and has successfully done so, attracting millions of visitors to his website, En Sound Entertainment since its inception. "If you know that God has called you, He will equip you to do His will, even when the naked eyes cannot see how things are going to be accomplished. I have proven this on many occasions throughout my life."

In addition to his very popular website, Delroy is an Internet radio personality on En Sound Radio which attracts thousands of listeners monthly. Over the years, he has interviewed many artists including Former American Idol contestant, George Huff, Karen Clark Sheard, Donald Lawrence, Vickie Winans, Ann Nesby, Babbie Mason, Lexi, Andrae Crouch, Dorothy Norwood, Marcus Cole, Kenny Lattimore & Chante Moore and others. Delroy's reason for singing goes way beyond the fact that he can sing. His reason for singing is due to the fact that when he was going through the roughest times of his life, God and music were always the two components that brought him true comfort, peace and happiness, and he knows that with his music, others who are going through will be able to find comfort, peace hope and happiness in his songs.

He admits that first and foremost, he hopes that anyone who listens to his music will be inspired by it. My singing is not for show, it's from my heart and I deliver each song with the sole intention of blessing others. Delroy said he lives each day of his life as if it was his last, having had a very close brush with death in early 2005. I am still here for a reason and a purpose that is being unfolded in me everyday. His sophomore CD, "My Life" (Feb. 2007) is a testimony of some of what he's been through, and how God's grace and mercy sustain him through it all.

The sky is the limit for this amazing young man who proves many times that when you are down, you can get back up. With songs that ministers and touches you to the core, one will agree that this project is worth your time and attention. "No more drama here...no more hurts and disappointments...this is my beginning my second chance, this is my life", said Delroy who is a firm believer of Philippians 4:13; "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
