Firefly Films has set up the Flashpoint Foundation in order to give back to the communities they work with. The first project the Flashpoint Foundation has undertaken is assisting the Sandy Park basic school in Sandy Park, Kingston. Sandy Park is the main location for the filming of the feature film 'Better Mus Come'.

"Sandy Park is a live in set for us, and the community has totally embraced the filming of 'Better Mus Come'. Everyone has been able to 'eat a food' as we have employed hundreds of persons from the area to work on the film either as extras or crew. We feel that people tend to take advantage of the poor and we wanted to give back to the community that has helped us make this film." Explained Paul Bucknor, Managing Director of Firefly Films.

The plan is to build a perimeter fence around the school, renovate the building, add a second floor to house the IT centre and redesign the grounds as a multi-sport field. Work has already started and the project has hired over 300 persons from the community to work on the assignment.

Flashpoint Foundation has donated 2 Million Jamaican dollars to help renovate Sandy park basic school and add an IT learning centre that the entire community will be able to use. "We have sent members of the community to be trained in IT so that they can teach in the IT centre. We hope the school will become a focal point of learning for the community" Bucknor disclosed.

Bucknor explains further. "We are building a wall separating the field and the school so that it can be utilized by both the school and the community. The multi-sport field can be used for football, basketball and netball. Additionally we will be building a grandstand that will be able to seat over 250 spectators."
Firefly Films is committed to helping the Sandy Park community in order to give back to the people who have helped in making filming possible. 'Better Mus Come' will be premiered at the 2007 staging of the Flashpoint Film Festival in December.
