This is a reminder that JAMPACT elections will be held on August 19, 2009.

On that date, members who have paid their dues for the administrative year will be voting on both a new executive slate as well as making fundamental changes to JAMPACT's constitution, including extending the term for certain directors from one year to two years.   

We invite you to participate in these key decisions by paying your dues before Saturday, August 8th. Also, please give strong consideration to joining our team of dedicated individuals by volunteering/nominating yourself for a position or alternatively nominating another candidate. Service on JAMPACT's board will help to develop or strengthen your leadership skills, while giving back to the Jamaican community.  The deadline for nominations is August 8th. Below are the positions to be elected:

President
Vice President
Secretary
Treasury
Membership Chair

Please note that paid members may vote electronically by sending an e-mail to elections@jampact.org.  Electronic voting commences August 12 and ends August 19 at 6 PM. 

Alternatively, members may vote at the election meeting. Please note that you may only vote once for each position and on each issue.  So, if you vote electronically, and then vote at the meeting, only your last vote counts.   

Finally, at the Election Meeting, members will have an opportunity to hear from each member of the current board as to their views on the proposed constitutional amendments and on the current state of JAMPACT as required by the Constitution. You will also have an opportunity to hear from each of the candidates for elective offices.

For your convenience, below is a summary of all election-related dates: 

August  8         Record Date (I.e., if you wish to nominate and/or vote this is the last day to pay dues)

August  8         Deadline to make nominations for President, Vice President, Treasurer,

August 10         All bios due 

August 12-19      Electronic Voting commences on August 12 and continues until 6 P.M on August 19 

August 19         Election and "STATE OF JAMPACT " meeting at 7:00 P.M.
