FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., October 11, 2007 — Reggae Charity Initiative, announced today that it hopes to become a major driving force in raising funds and awareness to provide rebuilding aid for those left homeless by Hurricane Dean in Jamaica. This effort brings together Reggae Entertainers, State, County and City Officials, along with the Caribbean Community, local churches and charities, working together to alleviate this desperate need for housing.

The JAMAICA REBUILDING AID - Reggae Charity Initiative Concert will be held on Sunday, November 4, 2007, at the Fort Lauderdale Stadium Event Site, 1301 NW 55th Street, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. This effort is the first of several events aimed at raising an assessed US$2 Million to help Food For The Poor provide shelter for families left homeless in Jamaica by Hurricane Dean.

The effort will provide the construction of single unit Food For The Poor homes as illustrated below. The Food For The Poor homes are given to the destitute at no cost to them.

Construction Cost - Single Unit Home - US$2,600

Food For The Poor builds quality, well-constructed houses for destitute families in Jamaica. The houses all have hurricane straps, sturdy concrete foundations and are constructed with termite-resistant lumber. The cost of imported lumber is the most costly factor in building these homes. The houses have front doors that lock and corrugated sheet metal roofing. The wood siding is tongue and groove and louvered windows allow for fresh air to flow through the home.

All proceeds from this initiative will be directed to Food For The Poor, which has been painstakingly assessing and documenting the damage in each township.
