The Queen of Canadian reggae Tanya Mullings, recipient of 14 Canadian Reggae Music Awards (CRMA), 7 Caribbean Crucible Awards, 4 Juno Nominations and 2 Reggae Music Achievement Awards (RMAA) has signed on as one of the performers at Irie Jamboree, North America's premier reggae festival, slated to take place at Roy Wilkins Park in New York on Labor Day Sunday August 31, 2008.

Steven 'Yello' Williams, one of the executives of Irie Jamboree who travelled to Canada for the launch during the Caribana festivities said, "We are extremely excited to support Canadian talent this year at Irie Jamboree 2008. I am confident we have found the best Canada has to offer."

Tanya Mullings, who has performed at major international festivals including Reggae Sumfest in Jamaica and the Montreal Reggae Festival in Quebec is the second daughter of the late Karl Mullings, forefather of Canadian Reggae and a co-founder of the world renowned Caribana.

"Tanya's forthcoming album 'Music Is My Life' supports her talents and confirms her position as the top female reggae artist in Canada," says Carrie Mullings, Manager and President of i.M.O.K. Enterprises.

With a number of documentaries airing in Canada on Tanya and the Mullings Family history, we are proud to have a member of Canada's 1st Family of Reggae on the 2008 lineup for Irie Jamboree Carrie noted.

Media Marketer, Anthony Turner, who along with Michael Williams and Irwine Clare travelled to Canada as part of the Irie Jamboree Executive team said, "While we seek to expand our marketing efforts internationally, our expectation is to bring awareness to the Irie Jamboree product; to foster long term relationships with our neighbors in Canada and encourage patronage at Irie Jamboree 2008."

Among the other acts slated to perform at Irie Jamboree are Tarrus Riley, Beenieman, Coco Tea, Sizzla, Elephant Man, Yellow Man and rising reggae stars Serani, Bugle, DeMarco and Little Hero.
