“No Place Like Home” produced by the late Jamaican director, Perry Henzell will be one of the films to be shown at the 24th annual Miami International Film Festival which began last Friday (Mar. 2) at several venues in downtown Miami.
The USA premier of Henzell’s film was among the 112 others selected for the annual festival which runs through Sunday (March 12).

The Festival will present films from more than 60 countries including 92 features and short, eight world premieres and 31 international.

‘No Place Like Home’ was released in Jamaica last December. Perry Henzell passed away last November, in Jamaica, after a period of illness.

Nearly two hours long, the movie has been described as a dramatic feature with English subtitles. The story traces the journey of a New York television producer and a local taxi driver as they delve deep into the heart of Jamaica.

Henzell was also credited for the success of the production “The Harder They Come” in the 1970’s, which was also filmed in Jamaica and utilized some local Jamaican talent.
