South Florida Radio Personality Now “Eases And Squeezes” On Television

Published May 3, 2007

Da Real Rock Productions in association with New Era Productions has just announced that South Florida radio sensation, “Mr. Ease it & Squeeze it”; Sir Rockwell will be the co-producer and host of a new one hour entertainment, variety television program called “Rockin’ da Box”; scheduled to premier on Comcast television channels 19, 76 and 79. The program has secured the enviable time slot of 5pm to 6pm on Saturday evenings.

Sir Rockwell became a household name during his tenure on WAVS radio and went on to host the sorely missed “Wake Up and Live! Show”. “For those who miss the morning show, they can now see it in living color” stated the show’s host. The program features Sir Rockwell along with his beautiful Dominican Republic born co-host Jovi, sitting down with the movers and shakers in Caribbean music for informal but informative conversations. In addition, the program showcases various South Florida hotels and restaurants in its “Backyard Getaways” segment. There is also a health & wellness segment as well as the first “official” video countdown, hosted by The “Bigga Boss”.

Nearly half a million households will be able to view top Reggae/Soca videos, discussed in a humorous and somewhat opinionated way by Sir Rockwell and his co-host. “We are capitalizing on his experience and popularity as a radio and club disc-jockey, and more recently a columnist for the Caribbean National Weekly newspaper” said Nino Dilreto, Executive Producer of New Era Productions; co-producers of “Rockin da Box”. “We now have a product that people want to see and where advertisers go to be seen” At time of airing, the program will be only one of it’s type in South Florida, one that takes a light-hearted look at the Reggae/Soca industry and its videos with some of the biggest names in the business.

“This program fills a long standing void in Caribbean programming” said Sir Rockwell in a recent interview. “Caribbean-Americans have grown accustomed to professionally produced shows provided by American television but still long for content from back home. Our endeavor is to provide just that”.

The greatly anticipated “Rockin’ da Box” premiers Saturday, June 2 at 5pm on Comcast channels 19, 76 and 79 in over 450,000 homes. Hosted by Sir Rockwell and his co-host Jovi, the program features lighthearted conversations with Caribbean music stars, world premier videos, local segments on tourism, health and the South Florida Video Chart hosted by the “Bigga Boss”.
