The Digicel Kick Start Clinics footballers take on a team from Abu Dhabi during today's training session at Manchester City's Academy

The six Digicel Kick Start Clinics footballers from Central America were today treated to a tour of Manchester City’s stadium.

Following an intensive training session this morning, which saw the boys being put through their paces in two challenging sessions with visiting teams from Abu Dhabi and Soweto, the boys boarded the Academy’s bus this afternoon for a tour of Manchester City’s stadium.

First stop was a visit to the Sky Box so that the boys could get the best – and highest - view of the stadium. Following that, the footballers went down into the heart of the stadium and toured the media centre, the visiting team’s preparation area and – most importantly – Man. City’s changing room’s, where each boy had his picture taken beside the photo of his favorite footballer.

The next stop for the boys was a walk through the widest tunnel in the English Premier League which brought them right onto the pitch and the dugouts for the home and visiting team. The tour guide, who was specially assigned to the boys, shared some inside tips about the history of the stadium, which was originally built to host the Commonwealth Games in 2002.

Speaking about today’s tour, Julio Segundo from Panama said: “This week keeps getting better and better. The training sessions on Monday, Tuesday and again today have been so much more than I could have hoped for. The coaches have opened my eyes to a whole new way of playing football and I’ve already learnt so much in just three short days. And to cap it all off, today’s tour of Man. City’s stadium was fantastic. Seeing the changing rooms where the likes of Tevez and Robinho get changed for matches every week was amazing.”

The six footballers from Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras and Panama, took part in the Digicel Kick Start Clinics and were selected by Liverpool legend, Ian Rush, to spend one week training with Manchester City’s Academy.
