JAMPACT Elections Postponed

JAMPACT's Board Elections have been postponed until September 9, 2009, providing a new opportunity for interested parties to join the JAMPACT team! We encourage members, volunteers and supporters to give strong consideration to joining our team of dedicated individuals by volunteering/nominating yourself for a position or alternatively nominating another candidate.

Service on JAMPACT's board will help to develop or strengthen your leadership skills, while giving back to the Jamaican community.

Nominations are re-opened effective immediately. The new record date for paying dues in order to participate in the election process is August 19.

Below are the positions to be elected:

President
Vice President
Secretary
Treasury
Membership Chair

You may refer to the Constitution for a detailed description of the responsibilities of each position, or contact Wayne Melbourne, Inspector of Elections at elections@jampact.org.

 .:: ELECTION DETAILS ::.

Please note that paid members may vote electronically by sending an e-mail to elections@jampact.org.  Electronic voting commences September 2 and ends September 9 at 6 PM.

Alternatively, members may vote at the election meeting. Please note that you may only vote once for each position and on each issue.  So, if you vote electronically, and then vote at the meeting, only your last vote counts.   

Finally, at the Election Meeting, members will have an opportunity to hear from each member of the current board as to their views on the proposed constitutional amendments and on the current state of JAMPACT as required by the Constitution. You will also have an opportunity to hear from each of the candidates for elective offices.

For your convenience, below is a summary of all revised election-related dates: 

August  19         New Record Date (I.e., if you wish to nominate and/or vote this is the last day to pay dues)

August  26         Deadline to make nominations for President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and Membership Chair

August 30        All bios due 

September 2-9   Electronic Voting commences on September 2 and continues until 6 P.M on September 9 

September 9      Election and "STATE OF JAMPACT " meeting at 7:00 P.M.
