Call him the "Bandelero" or simply "The Don." His name is Pinchers and it was his dapper outfits and mega hits "Agony," "Request Of Denise," "Bandelero" and "A Small World" which seduced female fans and made him the first sex symbol of the dancehall.

Regarded as one of the most exciting sing-jays from the 80's, Pinchers will be riding north along with confirmed acts Daddy Lizard, Shinehead, Flourgon and Lady G in the "80s/90s Rub A Dub Session" segment at the Award winning Irie Jamboree on Labor Day Sunday September 6 2009 at the York College Outdoor Complex, 94-45 Liberty Avenue, Queens, NY this year.

In outlining other exciting plans for the 2009 festival, Louis Grant, VP Irie Jam Radio said The 'Roots & Culture' segment will feature Tony Rebel, Queen Ifrica, Bushman, Ras Shiloh, Natural Blacks and Gramps Morgan. Singers Freddy McGregor, Ken Boothe and Sugar Minnott will perform in the "Vintage" segment. The 'Dancehall Hotshots" segment will feature Grammy winner Sean Paul, Mr. Vegas, TOK, Assassin, Spice, Chino and Laden while "Canadian Imports" will feature three of the top reggae acts out of Canada, include 2009 JUNO reggae winner Humble and Reggae Music Achievement & Canadian Reggae Music Award winners Steele and Tasha T who have already been confirmed for the event.

"We are excited about the lineup as it showcases some the hottest dancehall stars of the day, the biggest reggae acts out of Canada and veteran singers and djs who have contributed significantly to the rich history of reggae music" Grant said.

A fixture on the calendar of events for Labor Day weekend activities in New York, Irie Jamboree continues to grow and recently won the "Concert of the Year" award for the third time in six years at the 28th Annual International Reggae & World Music Award (IRAWMA), beating out "Best of The Best" (Miami); "Moment In Time - Harmony House" (Jamaica); "Reggae Summerjam" (Germany) and "Reggae Sumfest" (Jamaica) for the top prize.

"We are elated to have been honored again, particularly given the speed with which the festival has garnered international recognition, attracting well over 30,000 music lovers last year who were treated to a superb blend of Caribbean music served up by Yellow-man, Admiral Bailey, Coco Tea, Beenie Man, Tarrus Riley, soca Queen Allison Hinds, Mavado, alongside rising stars Demarco, Serani, Elvis D, Tanya Mullings and Bugle" Grant noted.
