The New & Unique DIY Reggae Show On LIFE FM 103.6 London

Published Apr 21, 2007

Lady Loy (you know her as Myrna Loy) Founder & Managing Editor of Blackbright News (the magazine that challenges negative stereotypes and promotes local achievers as role models for our youth), has teamed up with Reggae Singer & DJ Ras. A K Tramplaz on the DIY Reggae Show where they mix social and political commentary with conscious reggae music tracks.

The DIY Reggae Show is a backdrop for Blackbright News so it is designed to stimulate, educate and motivate through discussions and music. Discussions and music tracks are specifically geared towards uplifting the youth and raising family values.

Main features of the show include:

- “Why Rasta?” when Lady Loy asks A K Tramplaz different questions every week: e.g. Can the Rastafarian faith reduce street crime and gang culture, if so why and how?
- A ‘Lady Loy’ Selection – Where a specific music track is selected and discussed. e.g. Can lyrics open to misinterpretation?
- Topical discussions/community issues
- A Lady Loy Topical Poem; e.g. Street Crime

Another Killing
Another brother dead
Another mother crying
“I don’t know why this happened” she said.
I sent him off to school this morning
With his lunch and a flask of tea
And I received a call this evening.
To say he was dead at a quarter to three.

Why, oh why
His mother bawled
I tried to steer him the right way
But my son, he wouldn’t listen
To anything I had to say..
He said that his friends were waiting
And that I should ease up a bit
And ease up I did, and let him go
And this is the result of it.

He is there lying a coffin
That I should be lying in
He was only seventeen
And I am 61
The Good Lord must know why he tek him life
So early in his prime
He was my son – my baby boy
And now a statistic of street crime.
