Our Story Art Exhibition is an exhibition by a Jamaican artist in London to celebrate Jamaica's National Heroes, the UK's Black History Month and the abolition of slavery. The exhibition, which will be held at The Gallery, Willesden Green Library Centre, 95 High Road, London NW10, opens officially on 4 October by the High Commissioner of Jamaica in the UK, His Excellency Mr Burchell Whiteman and Ms Dawn Butler, Member of Parliament whose parents are Jamaicans. The exhibition closes on 3 November.

The artist, Opio Yaw Asante (aka Horace Donovan) studied at the Jamaica School of Art (now Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts) and the Chelsea College of Art & Design in the UK. Opio has exhibited at a number of venues in the UK, including The Royal Festival Hall and the Commonwealth Institute. He is a descendant of the Maroons; African slaves that freed themselves from the British in the 17th century and took up residence in the interior mountains of Jamaica.
