New York, NY (Ms. Raine Inc.): Popular New York City promoters Upscale Crowd Entertainment will kick-off their annual Caribbean-flavored Independence Day weekend celebration by hosting a launch for the upcoming Reggae Uprising concert tonight at Club Nest in NYC for their Thursday “3 Some” party. Reggae Uprising promoters Friends for Life Entertainment will be in attendance with co-promoters Solar Entertainment.
Expected guests include acclaimed Reggae crooner Gyptian, Kevin Kinsella (founder and former lead singer of the band John Brown’s Body), and singer Dion Gibb. Reggae superstar Shabba Ranks, an associate of the Friends for Life team, has been invited to attend.
Friends for Life Entertainment’s Reggae Uprising concert will be held at NY’s famous Hammerstein Ballroom on Saturday, July 26th, celebrating the worldwide influence of Roots Reggae and commemorating the birthday of H.I.M. Emperor Haille Selassie I of Ethiopia. Headliners include Morgan Heritage, Richie Spice, Gyptian, and Jamelody. The event also marks the New York debut of Reggae siren Tessanne Chin, and features a rare performance by Dancehall’s ‘Don Gorgon’ Ninja Man.
