January 24, 2008 - Rootz Underground will perform for the first time in Jamaica this year at the Zinc Shack in Montego Bay.

With the imminent release of its first Album; 'Movement' and the impending premier of the ground breaking video for Hammer; Rootz Underground will perform for the first time in Jamaica this year at the Zinc Shack on Saturday, January 26th in Montego Bay.

Rootz Underground will not be performing on the main stage at Air Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival this year. Based on this fact, it was thought that as a tribute to the fans, Rootz Underground would do a one-off show in Montego Bay as a build up to their release next week of the video for 'Hammer', their latest single off the 'Movement' album.

"We thought it was a good idea to let the fans know that we will never leave them out. A lot of people were expecting us on the main stage at Air Jamaica Jazz & blues so we thought we would give them the next best thing" – Stevie G, Rootz Underground Lead Singer.

Also performing with Rootz Underground at the Zinc Shack on Saturday January 26th is Mystic Urchin artiste, Cezar and Soul for Soul

Tour and album

Since performing at Welcome to Jamrock last year, Rootz Underground has been consistently touring the US and is now gearing up for the completion of that tour as well as an album tour of Europe this summer.

Pre-released copies of the album 'Movement' were available in early January 2008 but have now been sold out. March 08 is the date for the full release of the Album which is coming out on Riverstone Records and features production by some of Jamaica's best including Bobby Digital and Rory from Stone Love.
