Islandtrotting - Free Basketball Camps In The Caribbean, August 6th - 10th, 2009, Jamaica

Jamaica born Wesley Frater for the 5th year will kickoff a series of FREE basketball camps in the Caribbean.  Working in sports here in the states, it offers me the opportunity. contacts and fringe benefits each year to obtain equipment and clothing and tour Caribbean islands spreading the goodwill of "Peace & Literacy" utilizing basketball.

This year Frater will be bringing along some special guest in NBA Wali Jones and Udonis Haslem. "We will visit new places and have new objectives including a visit to Windsor girls Foster Home in Ocho Rios where Fraters guest will be business women Ms. Daun Ferguson Bahamian born owner of two major salons in South Florida.  She will speak on  beauty, makeup and hair care to the ladies at Windsor and donate personal hygiene items to the school along with educational equipment including backpacks.  Refurbishment of the computer room at Bethany Primary School in St. Anns.  Donations will be made to over 500 youths.

In Nassau Frater will continue the Mother Pratt Basketball camp in honor of Coach Godfrey McQuay who recently passed away.  Mother Pratt is former Deputy Prime Minister of the Bahamas.  Godfrey McQuay was one of the most successful Bahamian HS coaches placing many players in colleges in United States.  This camp will be held June 6th at Kendall Issacs 10:00 AM.
