FROZEN will be held at Susie’s Coffee Bar, Southdale Plaza on Saturday, the 27th of June.  Expect Music, expect Artistes, expect Art, expect Winter in June!

Frozen is a fundraising party for the Commonwealth Women’s Antarctic Expedition (CWAE). The CWAE is a team of 8 women from the Commonwealth countries of Brunei Darussalam, Cyprus, Ghana, India, Jamaica, New Zealand, Singapore and the United Kingdom, ski to the Geographic South Pole to mark the 60th anniversary of the Commonwealth.  They will brave blizzards, and extreme temperatures to ski across Antarctica to the South Pole. The aim of the expedition is to demonstrate the potential of greater inter-cultural understanding, raise awareness of climate change and the value of the modern Commonwealth  and to highlight the achievements of women around the World. 8 Women, 7 languages, 6 faiths, 5 continents!

The Jamaican team member is Kim-Marie Spence. She is the only team member from the Caribbean, from the Americas, from the Western Hemisphere!

Sneak Peek – Artistes will include Courtney John, his first performance after the release of his latest album, Made in Jamaica. The new single, Lucky Man, is burning up the charts. Also on the show will be the up and coming Hezron – with his hit single, So In Love. Specially invited guests include T.O.K. One of the artists will be critically acclaimed Barbadian-Jamaican artist Nakazzi. Look out for the updates at Facebook group – SouthPole Trod!

The costs are reasonable – this is a national effort! We want everyone there. The pre-paid tickets are $1,000. Tickets at the gate are $1,500. The party starts at 9pm. See you there!

Come and Help Send a Jamaican to the South Pole!
