The Caribbean Cultural Theatre, in association with a number of Caribbean American cultural partners will be celebrating the cultural legacy and spiritual vision of Trevor D. Rhone, who died on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at the age of 69.  
 
The event which takes the form of a Nine Night, or traditional wake celebration, will be held at St. Francis College , Founders Hall in Brooklyn , NY on Saturday, September 26 starting at 7:30 pm.
 
Trevor Rhone, arguably Jamaica 's greatest playwright is best known for a series of plays including Smile Orange, Old Story Time and Two Can Play. He also co-wrote the screenplay for 'The Harder They Come', the 1972 low-budget film that introduced Jamaican pop culture to an international audience.
 
The program, which will include tributes from New York area colleagues and friends, will also see excerpts of his screen work as well as performances a number of Jamaican and Caribbean artists.
