Gibson Relays 2013 - Live To The World, February 23, 2013, Jamaica

Published Feb 19, 2013

Good news for the thousands of athletics fans who would love to share the excitement of this thrilling relay carnival but can’t make it to Jamaica.  We are taking it to the world.  Best Seat in the House (Jamaica) and DC Digital have partnered with the Gibson Relays Organizing Committee to stream the entire event - LIVE and DELAYED – to viewers outside Jamaica on the Internet, cable systems and mobile devices.

The relay carnival is non-stop activity from the National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica starting at 9:30am on Saturday February 23, 2013.  It’s a series of thrilling contests at all age-group levels, and a barometer to test the quality of talent waiting in the wings to keep Jamaica’s international reputation on the track intact.  No question that the motivation to perform will be influenced by the fact that the youngsters will be sharing the stage with Jamaica’s world-beaters.  Much attention will definitely be focused on the Olympians, who will be locked in head-to-head relay contests, seeking glory for their respective clubs.  We expect most of the stars will be on show.

This year’s event will honour the memory of its conceptualizer, Neville “Teddy” McCook, the outstanding Jamaican track and field administrator, who died on February 11 at the age of 73.  At the time of his death McCook was President of the North America, Central America and Caribbean Council of the IAAF (NACAC).

GIBSON RELAYS 2013 may be seen worldwide on the following channels: BEST SEAT IN THE HOUSE JAMAICA (www.bshjamaica.com); CARIBLINK – download app from Apple store; SERVOCAST – download app from Apple store; and CARIBCAST - download app from Apple store, Android store and Blackberry store.

All finals will be streamed from 4:00 - 9:00pm (EST).  Don’t miss a minute of the action.
