That story is so sweet. There is no way I would have understood a native speaker telling the story without being able to read along. Language is the universal bridge to unite all humanity and we all should take the opportunity to learn a few words in each other's tongue. Being able to say hello, how are you to a native speaker is the power to put a smile on another's face.
