Travel Advice Q & A: I am going to Kingston to work for 2 weeks. What would you recommend?

We asked our facebook fans to help answer a question submitted to us by email:  "Help answer question a Jamaica travel question from an email we received: We are seeking a location for a series of week-long wellness retreats and looking at Negril or Treasure Beach as a possible location. The perfect location would be a waterfront villa that can accommodate between 8-10 persons. Do you have any suggestions?"

We asked our facebook fans to help answer a question submitted to us by email:  Help Answer a question traveler to Jamaica submitted to us: I am going to Kingston to work for 2 weeks. I will be off on the weekends and want to have some fun. I like nature, whether it's beaches, lakes or the forest.  It should be reasonably easy reach as I don’t want to spend the whole time traveling on the roads. What would you recommend?

RESPONSES:

A. Basinger - Fly over to Negril in local plane.

D. Graham - Visit Port Royal

A. Lodge – Visit Hope Garden , Devon house , mineral bath ,

W. Greenwood  - Go to Portland, easy access to pretty much anywhere from there and you won't get hassled as much as Mobay, Negril, or Ochi because it's not as well-known as a tourist destination. The beaches are great, the people are friendly, and there's LOTS to do. People go to a resort in Mobay and never leave the complex, that's NOT Jamaica. You may as well go somewhere else if that's what you want to do, in my opinion.

M. McLeod - Lyme on the Fort Clarence Beach...eat fish and festival and enjoy the cool, refreshing air in Hellshire.

N. Hall - Lovers leap

N. Thompson - Cayman Park for the horse races !!

S. Imonea - Mi say Portland all the way lovely beaches!!!
